The Yoga Workshop has been part of the Boulder landscape for over twenty years. During that time our sangha of practitioners and teachers has gone through the natural evolution of change that is bound to happen within any community as life itself evolves. There have been births, deaths, marriages, divorces, doubts, revelations, insights. We’ve had dear friends come and go, many to return again. We’ve welcomed newcomers and visitors from all over the world as the Yoga Workshop community or sangha has gradually and organically been established.

One element that has remained the same over the years is our aim to provide a space for practice in which a direct experience of reality — whatever that is — can unfold. The principle teaching of the studio is founded on this ideal. By working together to discover the truth that lies within each moment we aspire to simply waking up to the present as it is revealed.
One of the most effective ways of beginning to experience “reality” is to spend time with others who also have the desire to be present with things just as they arise. Over the years a community of individuals who feel connected to the Yoga Workshop through a shared intention to stay awake and to remain present with “reality” has gradually developed.
As a reflection of this we invite you to join us (if only virtually) as we gradually develop the Sangha section of our web site. We see this section as a forum for this connection. Here you can find out about interesting things going on in our community, and you can also connect with others in the Yoga Workshop sangha through our local and world-wide bulletin boards.
We welcome your input, feedback and comments. And remember, the subtle aspects of yoga are infectious, you pick them up from hanging out with others who are practicing. So be careful. Before you know it, you may realize you’re actually part of the Yoga Workshop sangha, and as Richard often says, “yoga has ruined your life!”
