At the Yoga Workshop our aim is to provide teaching within the context of Ashtanga Yoga in both the broad sense as a vinyasa practice as taught by K. Pattabhi Jois, and in the classical eight-limbed practice. We are moving in the direction of becoming a learning center that offers both daily practice opportunities as well as high level courses that weave together the subtleties of the teaching.
We hope that our teaching encourages an understanding of yoga as practice through asana, pranayama and meditation. As we cultivate this environment of practice we hope that students can have insight into the interpenetrating nature of all levels and aspects of being, and that they will discover for themselves the truth of impermanence, and the joyous nature of reality.
The focus of our work is to explore interconnections between Ashtanga Yoga and other related traditions as well as how the practice of yoga can lend balance and insight into other aspects of life—“Yoga in the World.”
