introduction to Ashtanga

For students with little or no experience in yoga practice, people who may perhaps be unsure that "yoga is for me" and/or those who feel they need a refresher in the fundamentals. Attention will be given to the basics of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga; the breathing and flowing movements that make the practice a meditation in action. Students will also learn how the practice can be adapted for various body types, shapes and ages. Sun Salutations, standing poses, beginning portions of the primary series, basic back bending and a simple finishing sequence will be covered.
