Backbends and Inversions

At the end of every ashtanga yoga practice we do backbends and finishing poses to balance and calm the body/mind. In this course we will explore three of the main postures in this area; urdhva dhanurasana (upward facing bow), sarvangasana (shoulder stand) and sirsasana (headstand). Preparatory poses, correct alignment, special modifications, and the use of props will all be considered.
